Leaflet campaigns in newspapers

Direct mail or leaflet drops made through local newspapers are another way of promotion, although not always the most successful advertising solution.

With a careful well thought out campaign it is possible to produce a cost effective targeted mail drop.

1/ question what are you trying to sell, is it a new product etc, and to whom are you selling it to?.
2/ How much are you prepared to spend on your budget, how many leaflets do you need,
what size is the leaflet and how many colours will it be, etc.
3/ Think about your timing, promoting toys for example 2-3 months before Christmas will work better than the same promotion run in January.
4/ Who are your customers? To identify these sectors many distribution companies can provide information to help target specific demographic areas, like households, specific areas of wealth, age, lifestyle etc.
5/ If you have previously had success from customers in a particular area, it is more likely that these areas will have a higher success for your targeting of a leaflet campaign.
6/ Leaflet distribution can be provided as either 'shared' distribution which is the cheapest way, though this means your leaflet could be in amongst a handful of other leaflets, and more likely to be discarded. The other method is 'solos' this is more expensive and means it is the only leaflet distributed.
7/ The most important aspect of any campaign is to create an effective targeted leaflet,
why not ask us to help you with this?
8/ Within the design try to add an offer or incentive to attract customers to want to buy from you.
9/ Did you leaflets get distributed? Ask friends and family members in the areas you distributed these to and check they received them. If you are not happy speak to your distribution company.
10/ What response did your campaign have? Check on the success, and make adjustments. Consider making this a regular part of your marketing activity.
