create a mind mapCreate a Mind Map
A mind map is used to identify problems and developments from a key word
that is central for a structure to work from. These structures radiate out from
the word and are then used to generate ideas for further study and development,
ie for problem solving, brain storming, group discussions etc and finally the
decision making process.
Often these maps are a very quick and simple way to develop a team meeting, so
getting ideas down on paper for discussion. Mind maps are useful in all aspects
of life, for business, family and educational use. The benefits of this process
is it a quick visual and helpful aid, solving even very complicated problems.

How to start a mind map?
1/ Use a large sheet of plain paper and begin at the centre of your page, and
write your word or phrase.
2/ Write or draw the first thing that you associate with the issue, like related
thoughts etc.
3/ Write down one or two words that describe the ideas, branching out from the
centre and sub-branches.
4/ Put down ideas into images or words whatever to illustrate your point
5/ Think outside the box! Use different colours, feint, bold, try a variety
of ideas to illustrate your map. Caps, lower case words, draw boxes etc.
6/ Ideas branch off from previous ideas, put all these down, they could be useful
and relevant later on.
7/ The main exercise is to get the ideas out of your head on to the paper, clear
your thoughts, and unclutter your mind.
8/ These initial ideas can be refined later on and the mind map could be redrawn
and modified.
